Welcome to the website of the Shiley Eye Center, located on the UC San Diego campus in La Jolla, California. The Shiley Eye Center is the home of the Department of Ophthalmology for the UC San Diego School of Medicine.

The physicians and staff at the Shiley Eye Center provide comprehensive eye care at one convenient location. The Doctors at our facility perform everything from basic eye exams to the most advanced diagnostic tests and sophisticated surgery.


Immediately adjacent to the Shiley Eye Center is The Abraham Ratner Children’s Eye Center. Ratner is the only dedicated eye facility in the region designed to meet the very special vision needs of children.
